When you first look at the poster, the first thing you recognize or notice is glasses and the light bulb on the top of the glasses. The glasses, combined with the picture of a light bulb instantly tells that this movie has some kind of character or relation with intellect. Glasses (combined more or less with light bulbs) are stereotypically used in other movies or videos to signify a character that is smarter then most characters in the movie in certain areas or all areas. This character could also be socially awkward. The light bulb is above the glasses and thus the eyes. With the head above the eyes, its easy to assume that the light bulb further strengthens the fact that the character is smart or that the characters gets lots of ideas as light bulbs above the head tell the audience that a light bulb means a new idea formed in the character's brain.

Our attention moves to the differently colored books and the movie title, as everything in this poster indicates a "bookworm" and intellectuallity. The books stand out amongst the poster as they have a large contrast with the other colors in this book. If we zoom closer, two of the books has names which indicate books are read for learning. Last but not least, the movie title, "The Bookworm" also suggests that the main character is a "bookworm" as glasses are, again, stereotypically used for bookworms to suggest how smart they are. This also shows who the character is as the title and the glasses share the connection.

The light colors used in this poster, especially the light blue background with all of the text white gives off a light feeling. You can easily tell from the poster that this movie is not horror nor action or drama as the light colors indicate. The audience will likely tell that this is a light-hearted movie. The crumpled effect added to the poster gives the movie poster a nice texture while reinforcing the idea of the movie related with books as paper-like crumple is present in the background.
